I work for a company called Duncan Aviation.
They have been in business over 50 years now.
They recently held a company wide meeting, including
all of our "satellite shops" scattered thru out the country.
In this meeting, we were told some departments would be
getting their hours cut back to 32 hours per week.
(we had some mechanics who were used to getting 60
hours a week...for years)
Other departments (including mine) would be getting
pay cuts. The % ranged from 5% to 25%!
If it wasn't for my online business's, I don't know
what I would do. I am doing good with three of them
currently. I have plans to increase my portfolio this year.
You can NEVER have too much money coming in.
Our company also (for the FIRST time in it's 50 plus
years) has not ruled out...the dreaded layoffs.
We were told if the economy doesn't improve soon,
they will HAVE to reduce the work force. We have
approx 2000 employees!
One GOOD thing (In my opinion) about the poor
economy, is there SHOULD be thousands of new people
jumping online looking for new ways to make money!
MORE THAN EVER BEFORE IN THE INTERNETS HISTORY!!!!
Relying on an employer, has proven these days; to be a mistake.
Sure, there are scams galore online, liars, cheaters, thief's, "gurus"
out to make a quick buck, a gazillion ads & programs to sort thru.
And, sure, your employer is real, has a real building for you to
work in, & is not hiding behind a website online. You would never
walk into a place of business for an interview & say "I am a
skeptic, & I believe you are a scam & will not actually pay me
for my work performed". (like you would an online business
opportunity!)
This is how my wife is. She feels an employer is the only way to
make "safe" money & legitimate money. She is wrong, & I am slowly
starting to prove this to her.
Last September was also my last month at a partime job I had held
for 5 years. The reason? They decided to save money by letting
me go & getting my services done "in-house". My boss told me they
were happy with my work & it was nothing to do with that.
They were just trying to save money is all. (at my expense!)
2009 IS my year though. I will not give up!!!!!!!!!!!
